Ingredients
150 g lean beef mince
1 egg, whisked
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 teaspoon fresh sage
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
½ red or brown onion, finely sliced
2 iceberg lettuce leaves (or a wrap!)
¼ avocado, sliced
2 slices tomatoes
Preparation
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, whisked egg, fresh herbs, salt and pepper, and make a patty using the palms of your hands.
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the patty, cook for around 5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
In the same pan throw in the onion and cook until brown and slightly caramelised.
To serve, place the cooked patty on top of the lettuce or wrap, top with avocado, sliced tomato and caramelised onion.
